When Oliver Speaks is a children’s book written by Kimberly Garvin and Saadiq Wicks. It is the story of a young boy named Oliver who stutters. Oliver is afraid to speak up in class or in public because he worries about stuttering. He feels like he is different from everyone else and that he will never be able to overcome his stutter.
One day, Oliver’s class is assigned to give a presentation. Oliver is terrified, but he knows that he has to do it. He starts practicing his presentation over and over again. He also talks to his mom about his fears. She helps him to understand that he is not alone and that there are other people who stutter.
